Adman were appointed by Statkraft Ireland to undertake the enabling works for the 9 turbine Cloghan Wind Farm located in County Offaly. The proposed site infrastructure at Cloghan Wind Farm required a crossing of the Little River to facilitate the wind farm construction and delivery of turbines. The existing bridge required replacement in order to facilitate the delivery of wind turbine components. Adman undertook full design and construction services.
Key aspects of the works allowed for:
- In-situ reinforced concrete bank seats being installed on both river banks in order to provide support for the bridge decks. The bridge deck was formed using precast reinforced concrete “MY2” deck beams and edge beams
- Installing an in-situ reinforced concrete slab over the “MY2” deck beams which incorporated integrated duct banks for future integration of site cable ducting infrastructure. The surface finish was installed to match existing running surface
- N2W2 safety barriers were installed to both side of the bridge
- Construction methods used to avoid any in stream working and which left the existing watercourse intact with no interference
