Project 1: NIE Networks: B947 Excavation, Cable Laying & Reinstatement Framework
Summary: Adman were appointed by NIE in 2018 on Lot 2 Northern region to provide all civil engineering works associated with:
- The excavation and reinstatement of trenches and joint holes.
- Installation of electricity cables (33kV, 11kV, LV mains and LV service) and related equipment (including minipillars, underground distribution boxes, auxiliary cables, ducts, etc.) associated with:
- Provision of New Customer Connections
- Fault and Emergency Response
- Asset Installation / Replacement / Upgrade Works
- Cable Jointing of 33kV, 11kV, LV and Service Cables.
- Management of Street Works activities including signing, lighting and guarding of works to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
Project 2: NIE Networks – New Customer Supply, Antrim Area Hospital
Summary: Adman were appointed by NIE Networks to undertake the installation 7.5km of 11kv triplex cable and earth electric cables along the busy B518 Stiles Way in Antrim and within the grounds of Antrim Area Hospital.
Project Detail: The scope of works involved:
- The excavation and reinstatement of 7,500m of trenches and joint holes.
- Installation of 7,500m of 11kv triplex electricity cables and earth conductor.
- Facilitation and phasing of works within the grounds of busy regional hospital (inc. A&E dept.)
- Out of hours working where necessary, in adherence with Dfi Roads requirements.
- Management of Street Works activities including signing, lighting and guarding of works to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
Project 3: Raragh Wind Farm - Grid Connection Works
Summary: Adman were appointed by Mainstream Renewables Power to undertake the civil engineering design and construction of a 5km contestable grid route to facilitate the connection of the 12MW Raragh Wind Farm to Kingscourt 38Kv ESB Station..
Project Detail: The scope of works involved:
- Detailed design of the grid route including management of approval process with ESB Networks.
- Liaising with Cavan and Meath County councils to obtain road opening licences in compliance with TII requirements.
- Design stage surveys of existing buried services, culvert conditions, principle inspections on bridges, radar condition survey of road surfaces and topographical surveys of the grid route.
- Installation of 5km of ESB grid route with over 4km along the public road.
- Out of hours working on large sections that traversed the centre of the busy town of Kingscourt. This involved close coordination of our works with local businesses, residents and our supply chain partners.
- Horizontal directional drilling under two bridges and a disused railway line.
- Traffic Management for the duration of the works.
Final reinstatement of trenches and carriageways to TII “purple book” standards.
