Adman worked in partnership with our Client H&MV Engineering to build a 60MW (63.16MVA) battery storage system (BESS) to provide DS3 services to the grid network. The Lisdrumdoagh BESS site is located in County Monaghan, approximately 3km west of Monaghan town.
The project included a single storey electrical substation building and electrical compound, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, containerised battery storage modules on concrete support structures, access tracks, associated electrical ducting, cable racking and cabling, security fencing and CCTV security monitoring system, lightning protection poles, communications equipment and ancillary infrastructure. Key elements of work included:
- Site preparation, clearance and major earthworks to reduce levels
- Formation of site access road and parking area
- Construction reinforced concrete transformer and auxiliary transformer foundations
- Construction of reinforced concrete battery storage foundations
- Construction of reinforced concrete auxiliary cabinet foundations
- Construction of 87 no. reinforced concrete inverter foundations
- Excavation and reinstatement of below ground cable trenches
- Formation of earth bunds to site perimeter, trimming and landscaping
- Installing of 360m of 2.6m high security fencing to full battery storage site
