ICT Technician

Contract:   Full – Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all users both office based, site based and working remotely, and ensure minimal down time.
  • In conjunction with our ICT Support Provider, coordinate the Company’s hardware, software and internal IT applications and infrastructure:
  • New recruits: Order / allocate ICT equipment and accessories including PC, Laptops, Dongles, iPad /Tablets, and other accessories; set up on Printers / Scanners: Set up and issue standard email signatory for new recruits     
  • Permissions / Access to folders: Ensure permission levels to company data share including Set up of sub-folders are correct for current users, and for set up of new sub-folders on Datashare.
  • Procurement: Establish process for pricing and allocation of Software packages, and ensure traceability for future users.
  • Ensure efficient database / records for tracking and reallocation of IT hardware and accessories.
  • Assist Site Management when setting up new site-based offices:
  • Security: In conjunction with our ICT Support Provider, coordinate the configuration and maintenance of secure network infrastructure for both in-house and remote / home workers (VPN). Ensure effective firewall and cyber security in place and keep abreast of new / emerging technology.
  • Coordinate and support timely and efficient implementation of software and hardware updates.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and systems that reflect organisational priorities and align to security and governance requirements. This includes GDPR / ISO Certification and Cyber Certification
  • Provide training / induction and technical assistance where required
  • Set up / assist with an environmental recycling system for company WEEE equipment.
  • Establish processes for obsolete hardware, ensuring hard disks are cleaned and properly disabled in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Set up an Intranet where shared information can be accessed for employees.
  • Maintain Company website and social media sites including recruitment exercises
  • Responsible for Office Phones, extension set-up for new recruits
  • Responsible for CCTV Cameras to ensure they meet security and legal requirements

 

Job Requirements – Knowledge and skills

  • As a minimum, the successful candidate must be qualified to Diploma Level in a relevant ICT course; a higher- level qualification in ICT/ Computers is desirable.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience and up-to-date knowledge in a similar role, ideally in an Industrial / construction environment.
  • Is approachable, demonstrates high-level customer service skills
  • Strong problem solver, is solution focused
  • Well planned and organised
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in ISO 27001 accreditation
  • Experience in delivering training is desirable
