Project 1. Foyle Port HGV Parking & Storage Facility
Summary: Adman were appointed by Foyle Port to construct a new 2.7 acre HGV parking and storage facility at Foyle Port, the marine gateway to the northwest of Ireland for commerce and tourism.
Project Detail: The works comprised of earthworks, drainage works, concreting works and fencing along with the installation of bespoke flood lighting in order to create a hardstand area suitable for the parking of HGVs.
The works were undertaken in a live operational port environment and directly adjacent to several warehouse buildings, which shared the main port access from Haw Road thus high levels of planning and management of the project were critical to maintain port operations
Project 2. British Telecom Flood Defence Works
Summary: Adman were appointed by British Telecom (BT) as Principal Contractor to undertake flood protection works to key buildings in Manchester City Centre which house critical telecommunications infrastructure. The buildings are located directly adjacent to / on the River Irwell and most works were completed while working over this deep, fast flowing river.
Project Detail: The comprehensive scope of work included:
- Provision of full access to building elevation overlooking River Irwell.
- Diversion of deep level tunnel sump pumps (phased).
- Removing ducts, louvres, grilles and openings to building elevations overlooking River Irwell and replacing with new brickwork to match existing.
- Provision of new water tight telescopic intake ducts.
- Provision of new waterproof tanking render to the internal basement face of the River Irwell walls within the basements of Dial & Irwell House.
- Provision of duty and standby sump pumps to the basement.
- Survey& lining ofexisting internal storm water pipes within existinglift shaft.
Completing all repairs to the below ground drainage installation
Project 3. Carnroe Lock Chamber
Summary: Adman were appointed by Waterways Ireland to undertake essential restoration works to Carnroe Lock Chamber, a listed structure which forms a critical part of our inland waterways navigation by facilitating the movement of boats along the length of the Lower Bann.
Project Detail: The comprehensive scope of work included:
- Sheet piling works to form a cofferdam around the existing lock chamber.
- Grouting works to seal the chamber floor
- Lime repointing works to the chamber walls.
Project 4. Moorings at McConnell Weir:
Summary: Adman Civil Projects Ltd were appointed by the Department for Communities to undertake the design, supply, delivery and installation of a new floating walkway/ mooring units, access ramps, bridge access and ancillary items on the County Antrim bank of the tidal River Lagan, adjacent to the remains of the old McConnell Weir.
Project Detail: The works comprised of site clearance, piling including installation of 4.6m UC H-Piles including fixings, installation of 4m of landing pontoon, 36m of rowing pontoon, 15m long x 3m wide galvanised and powder coated access bridge and 20m long x 1.5m wide galvanised and powder coated access ramp.
